Privacy policy

Well Water Notebook is a static reference website. It has no user accounts, no comment section, no newsletter sign-up, and no forms, so we don't ask you for your name, email address, or any other personal information.

What is collected when you visit

• Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. That processing is covered by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see overall numbers, such as how many people visited and which pages they read. Cloudflare describes it as privacy-first: it doesn't use cookies or other browser storage and doesn't fingerprint visitors (Cloudflare Web Analytics, how it collects data). We only see totals, not who you are.
• Cookies. The site itself doesn't set cookies.

Links to other websites

Most pages link to government agencies, universities, and laboratories. When you click one, you leave this site and that site's own privacy policy applies.

Affiliate links

There are no affiliate links on this site today. If we join an affiliate program in the future (for example, for water test kits or treatment equipment):

• The pages that carry those links will say so near the top (see our affiliate disclosure).
• When you click an affiliate link, the company or affiliate network on the other end may set its own cookie or record the click so that a purchase can be credited to this site. That happens on their website and is covered by their privacy policy. We'll name each program and link to its privacy policy on this page when that happens.
• We never receive your payment details or what you bought, only a total of referred sales.

Children

This site is meant for adults making decisions about their home's water. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If anything here changes (for example, a new analytics tool or an affiliate program), we'll update this page and the date at the top.
